NICHOLAS M. WARD-WILLIS

Mr. Ward-Willis graduated with honors from Pace Law School where he concentrated his education in the Law School’s nationally-recognized environmental program and was a member of the Environmental Law Review. At Keane & Beane, P.C., he has represented businesses, developers, individuals, property managers and public bodies in a variety of environmental issues, including state and federal environmental litigation and has counseled clients on environmental issues in commercial and real estate transactions. Mr. Ward-Willis also has extensive experience in negotiating orders on consent with state and federal agencies in a variety of matters including hazardous waste sites and oil spill sites. In the course of representation of his clients, Mr. Ward-Willis interacts with consultants on oil spills, brownfields and hazardous waste remediations. He has lectured extensively on a variety of land use and environmental issues including SEQRA, RLUIPA, toxic torts, brownfields and environmental issues for residential real estate attorneys and the laws concerning regulations relating to oil storage tanks. Mr. Ward-Willis serves as counsel to several planning Boards in Westchester County, including the Villages of Rye Brook and Sleepy Hollow. He represents private clients before various land use boards and assists the firm’s public and private sector clients in complying with the State Environmental Quality Review Act, the New York City Watershed Regulations and other environmental laws. In addition to processing land use applications on behalf of clients, Mr. Ward-Willis also has prosecuted and argued Article 78 cases before trial and appellate courts. Additionally, he counsels property managers, cooperatives, condominiums and homeowners’ associations with respect to various issues affecting those entities and counsels municipalities on municipal law issues. Mr. Ward-Willis is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Connecticut. He is a director of the White Plains Bar Association and on the Executive Council of the NYSBA Conference of Bar Leaders.
